Welcome to Field Notes, a quick behind-the-scenes recap of the goings on in my life that didn’t make the cut for social media or larger blog posts. Essentially, this is a dumping grounds for photos and thoughts that I believe are worth a glance.

The Bro’d Trip: June
We started the month of June on an all-time high. Sure, we spent most of May dealing with the logistics of getting back on the road after our van was wrecked. But after settling into to a plush rental RV and reuniting with our pals at Fresh Off the Grid, summer was off to a great start. Wading through The Narrows in Zion seemed to wash all our worries away.

Happy to be in Colorado
Justin and I spent a couple days in the tiny town of Ridgway, CO to visit a fellow blogger friend. While she was at work, we had the privilege of taking her pup, Sprocket, to the reservoir to burn off some energy. Little guy loves fetch.
When you randomly run into friends from home at a bar in Flagstaff, AZ and make spur of the moment plans to visit the Grand Canyon together, your day just got real grand, real fast.
Summer is for jumping into bodies of water
Our blogger buddy, Mike, and fellow Merrell ambassador, Jason, insisted we climb the legendary First Flatiron while in Boulder, CO. It took us a little longer than most people but the view at the top was well worth the climb.
A video gig took us to Breckenridge for an epic weekend of filming outdoor adventures, all while eating delicious camp food.
Shoshone Falls – Idaho
Sandboarding in Bruneau Dunes State Park – Idaho
Payette Brewery – Idaho
Surfing the Boise River – Idaho
Hells Canyon raft & jetboat tour – Idaho
We worked with Visit Idaho to make a video of our trip through the Gem State. They sent us through a ton of cool places that we never knew existed. I’d never seen Idaho as a destination for outdoor sports but I’m already planning my next trip back out there!
Smith Rock, OR was calling our name after doing so much work with clients. Rest and relaxation was a necessity, in between climbing routes of course.
Did I mention that summer is for jumping into bodies of water?
This hidden place in the woods in Oregon is at the top of my list of favorite places I’ve ever been. Jumping into water is one of my favorite things to do. Hitting the 40 degree water from 30+ feet high is a rush!
